SubLime Citrus Margarita

I have been making & refining this margarita recipe for over 20 years. Sure, it takes a little more work then cracking open one of those craft can cocktails or pouring a bottled margarita mixer into tequila, but it’s SOOOO worth it— trust me! The recipe is below, but as I always say, “Here’s how I make it, now you have fun experimenting with your favorite spirits, ratios & techniques so you can love it as much as I do!”

Margarita Basics

Pre-make a batch of the home-made Sweet & Sour Mix, then combine all ingredients:

Sweet & Sour Recipe

  • 1 cup lime juice / 8oz. (approx. 7-9 hand-squeezed limes)

  • 1/2 cup orange juice / 4oz. (approx. 2-3 hand-squeezed oranges)

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice / 2oz. (approx. 1-2 hand-squeezed lemons)

  • 1/4 cup cane sugar / 2oz. (for tart-style -OR- up to 1/3 cup for sweeter-style)

  • 1 cup water / 8oz. (HINT: for better dissolving, mix the sugar above with mildly luke warm water before adding to the juices)

  • 1/8 Cup Organic Tart Cherry Juice / 1oz. (OPTIONAL: adds a subtle “Cherry Lime Rickey” note to this fruit-filled marg)
